Here is another look at one of the video profiles in The Through Her Eyes Project.

MarĂa Laura Castillo, 14, plays soccer in her hometown of Loja, Ecuador because she wants to prove to the world that women can play.

She plays because she loves it and because she believes every one should have the chance to play.

And she plays to prove that parents should not limit their daughters by relegating them to domestic roles, but allow them to pursue their dreams on and off the field.

“I like sports because I believe I carry it in my blood. And because I want to show everyone that women know how to play soccer. Because there are some people who think that because we are women, they think we can’t play. Or that we are useless compared to them.”
